As a Manager of our people, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success and growth of the practice. You’ll take on a key role within the Management team, with responsibility for the day-to-day issues, teams support & development, and overall management of staff matters.

· You will be working closely with the Operations Manager and Directors to facilitate and support a happy and safe environment for all staff to work in.
· You will be working closely with the Operations Manager and Directors to set the team up for success with primary responsibility for: effective recruitment, induction and ongoing in-practice communications and staff management, delivering a high level of colleague engagement and retention, all the while supporting and promoting PVS ways of working. This includes but is not limited to keeping policies and documentation up to date within our HR software package and the use of it for dealing with onboarding and offboarding of all staff members.
· Working closely with Line Managers of the admin, vet, nurse and reception teams in assisting in the management of HR requirements in their departments
· Being part of Line manager meetings and Management meetings.
· Carry out an initial investigative role in staff performance issues.
· Organising participating and minuting all staff yearly reviews.
· Staff welfare activities, including social events.
· Being part of Line manager meetings and Management meetings.
· Assisting the Operations Manager and Directors in their duties during times of absence, to support the teams effectively.
Your Skills and Experience
· Exceptional communication skills in a fast-moving veterinary environment are essential.
· Previous personnel management experience with a proven track record of managing supporting and leading a team, is preferable.
· Understanding of the HR regulations and of managing and monitoring effective processes for compliance is desirable.
· Proficiency with computer systems, good numeracy and analytical skills, and experience of using Microsoft Office is essential.
· Experience in driving a high standard of performance and staff development is desirable.
· Experience in using personal coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague is desirable.
· Experience of the veterinary environment is essential.
· Drivers Licence is essential.
