Our newly expanded Reigate practice

We’re delighted to have officially opened our new extension at the Reigate practice.

The additional space has been created to help us care for our patients even better, with enhanced diagnostic, treatment and hospital facilities. These improvements allow us to provide a calmer, more comfortable environment for pets while supporting a more efficient workflow for our clinical team.

This development supports our ongoing commitment to the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, and we are working towards achieving Hospital (Tier 3) status. In simple terms, PSS is a voluntary accreditation scheme that sets recognised standards for how veterinary practices in the UK run. It covers the quality of care we provide, our facilities, and the way we look after clients and patients. Being part of PSS shows our clients and the profession that we work safely, professionally, and are committed to continuous improvement.

Important: Years Fresh Meals recall

Years has issued a precautionary recall of its Fresh Meals range following reports of dogs developing sudden bilateral dry eye (KCS). The Chef’s Collection is currently excluded.

If your dog eats Years Fresh Meals, please stop feeding it immediately, even if your dog has no symptoms. Keep any remaining food for possible collection/investigation and do not give it to another animal.

Please contact your vet if you notice:

  • Excessive blinking or squinting
  • Pawing/rubbing at the eyes
  • Redness or eye discharge
  • Obvious eye discomfort
  • Eyes appearing dry or dull
The cause has not yet been established. Years is investigating a possible link with buckwheat, including potential contamination, but this remains unconfirmed.

Dogs that have eaten the food but are completely well do not currently need a precautionary examination solely because of the recall. However, please monitor them closely and contact us if any eye problems develop.

If your dog has developed unexpected dry eye, particularly since April/May 2026, please let us know about their diet, including whether they have been fed Years Fresh Meals.

We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.
